About the Author

Clive Endive Ogive IV belongs to at least eighteen very exclusive private clubs—certainly all the ones that matter. The fact that he has a Roman numeral four after his name and is exclusive heir to a trust fund whose annual interest is sufficient to pay all his annual club dues in perpetuity—and also somehow manages to write all this money off on his taxes as legitimate business deductions—is more than enough to fully qualify him to author multiple groundbreaking and awe-inspiring books about the wonderful world of private clubs.

Mr. Ogive was born with full medical coverage in an exclusive private hospital overlooking the seventeenth hole of a world-famous golf course. Despite mediocre SAT scores and not a single drop of minority blood in his entire body, Mr. Ogive was accepted by all eight Ivy League schools and went on to a thoroughly undistinguished career in the family business, where he continues to this day to be paid a generous annual salary to “stay away and not mess things up.” With all the right connections, far too much idle time on his hands, and little expertise in anything practical, it was only natural for Mr. Ogive to be elected to higher office in several of the outstanding private clubs to which he belongs. Mr. Ogive currently serves as president of the Old Bunbury Golf Links & Reading Club, one of the world’s most prestigious and exclusive private clubs.

When not chairing club Board and committee meetings, traveling on golf junkets to Scotland, or attempting to renegotiate alimony payments with his three ex-wives, Mr. Ogive enjoys tracing his lineage back to ancient Athens and texting his semi-estranged children Buffy and Clive V.
